{"id":1,"date":"2023-11-28T09:30:55","date_gmt":"2023-11-28T09:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/investjohor.gov.my\/portal\/?p=1"},"modified":"2024-03-29T03:49:15","modified_gmt":"2024-03-29T03:49:15","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investjohor.gov.my\/portal\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Johor identifies 3 possible LRT lines in Johor Bahru that complement JB-S\u2019pore RTS Link"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"1\" class=\"elementor elementor-1\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2f30b427 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"2f30b427\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53d709aa de_scroll_animation_no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53d709aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>ISKANDAR PUTERI &#8211; Johor has identified three possible light rail transit (LRT) lines that stretch for 30km in and around Johor Bahru.<\/p>\n<p>State works, transportation and infrastructure committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said a development study had been previously conducted by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Johor Public Transport Corporation (PAJ).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe study proposed that the LRT should be developed in Johor Bahru to complement the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/transport\/construction-of-jb-singapore-rts-link-on-s-pore-side-has-reached-halfway-mark-iswaran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link),<\/a>\u00a0which is slated to be completed by early 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the study conducted by IRDA and PAJ, there are three LRT lines proposed. The lines are the Tebrau line, Skudai line and Iskandar Puteri line, which will stretch until the Senai International Airport in Kulai,\u201d he said, adding that each line would be about 10km long.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mohamad Fazli, who is also the Bukit Pasir assemblyman, said this during a press conference at Bangunan Sultan Ismail in Kota Iskandar on Nov 26. He added that having the LRT system in Johor Bahru would also complement other modes of transportation projects, such as the Gemas-Johor Baru Electrified Double Track Project and the Bus Rapid Transit. \u201cHowever, a thorough study is still needed because we need to ensure that these ideas are able to meet the needs of traffic in Johor Bahru,\u201d Mr Mohamad Fazli said.<\/p>\n<p>During the tabling of state budget 2024 on Nov 23, Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, said the state wanted the high-speed rail (HSR) project between Malaysia and Singapore to be revived soon to further stamp the state\u2019s economic position in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo complete Johor\u2019s ecosystem as the main investment destination in the region, the state government feels that HSR and LRT could be implemented as soon as possible. \u201cI hope the federal government will give its attention and consider this request,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Resources &#8211; The Star \/ Asia News<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISKANDAR PUTERI &#8211; Johor has identified three possible light rail transit (LRT) lines that stretch for 30km in and around Johor Bahru.
